About the role
Homewise buys houses directly from homeowners for cash. Most of the people we speak with are selling for a hard reason: a foreclosure date, an inherited house they cannot maintain, a divorce, or repairs they cannot afford.
The Acquisition Representative is the person who takes those conversations from a first phone call to a signed contract. You are not cold calling from a list. You are speaking with people who have already raised their hand, and your job is to find out whether we can actually help them and at what number.
What you will do
- Run discovery calls with homeowners who have requested an offer, and find the real reason and the real timeline behind the sale
- Work the numbers with our underwriting team so the offer you present is one we can stand behind
- Present offers, handle objections about price, and negotiate to a signed purchase agreement
- Keep every conversation written up in the CRM the same day, so the next person can pick up your call cold
- Hit your callbacks when you promised them, not when you get around to them
- Hand signed deals cleanly to the disposition team with everything they need
What we need from you
- Two or more years in a phone-based sales role where you owned a number
- Comfortable being told no repeatedly without it changing how you show up on the next call
- You follow a script and a process before you improvise on them
- Clear spoken English and a quiet place to work with reliable internet
- Detailed and consistent with notes and CRM hygiene
Helpful, not required
- Real estate, wholesaling, mortgage, or title experience
- You have worked deals where the seller was in distress and handled it with care
- Familiarity with a CRM you actually used every day rather than one you were told to use
The honest version
Reading this and deciding it is not for you costs you nothing and we will not hold it against you. It is the cheapest possible outcome for both of us.
- Most people you speak with will not sell to us. That is the job, not a sign you are doing it badly.
- Some sellers will be short with you, and a few will be in genuine crisis. You have to stay steady in both.
- There is a proven process here and you are expected to run it before you invent your own.
- Notes are not optional admin. They are how the next person picks up your call.
- This is a phone role. If you want a job with little phone time, this is not it.
How hiring works here
- 1 Apply with your name and email. That creates your account, nothing else is needed yet.
- 2 Stage one: a short timed assessment plus a 90 second video answer. About 11 minutes.
- 3 We review within two business days and tell you either way.
- 4 Stage two if you move forward: judgment, a short coaching exercise, and a work style profile. About 16 minutes.
- 5 A conversation with the acquisitions lead, then a decision.
